Apex Accounting Consultants was founded by Alexis A. Chmielewski, MBA, to give growing businesses access to the kind of financial expertise that is often difficult to justify building entirely in-house.
With more than 15 years of experience working in financial strategy and leadership, I’ve seen firsthand what happens as businesses become more complex.
I’ve served as Vice President of Finance and worked with private-equity-backed companies and global organizations across home services, healthcare, SaaS, technology, and telecom—including Garage Door Partners, GenesisCare, ACI Worldwide, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Ericsson Telecom. My experience includes financial planning, forecasting, M&A integration, tax strategy, and developing reporting systems that help leadership make better decisions.
What I also saw was a gap.
Growing businesses often reach a point where basic bookkeeping is no longer enough, but building a sophisticated internal accounting and finance team doesn’t yet make sense.
That’s where Apex fits.
I created Apex Accounting Consultants to bring experienced financial support closer to the businesses actually making the decisions—to help owners and leadership teams understand their numbers, improve their systems, solve financial problems, and build a finance function that can keep up with the business.
The work is still personal. You’ll work with someone who wants to understand how your company operates, what isn’t working, and what better financial information needs to help you accomplish.
Alexis has also served as a Board Director and Treasurer for a private golf and country club community in Florida, where she oversaw a multimillion-dollar HOA operating budget, participated in reserve planning and vendor contract reviews, helped ensure compliance with Florida HOA statutes, and worked alongside homeowners and management on the community’s long-term financial health.
That experience reflects the philosophy behind Apex: good financial leadership isn’t just about producing numbers. It’s about stewardship, transparency, practical decision-making, and understanding the people and operations behind those numbers.
